One of the best things about London is the fact that when it comes to any sort of event, the decor and vibe is taken to the next level. For Christmas this year, a number of locations in the city are given an instant festival makeover. You could be walking down one street and suddenly bump into an illuminating street filled with festive lights. Oxford Street Christmas Lights

Being the most famous shopping street in London, we all know Christmas is coming when Oxford Street is lit up with glittering Christmas Lights! This year, the gold and silver LED light bulbs are inspired from falling snowflakes. Having been switched on by Rita Ora this year on November 7, it’ll last till January 6, so whilst shopping, just take a minute to enjoy this magical scene!

Regent Street Christmas Lights

In 1954, the very first Central London Christmas Lights was lit on Regent Street, and this year, on November 16, they’re paying tribute to it by showcasing over 300,000 twinkling LED lights making this the biggest and most spectacular parade of Christmas lights in the capital. On the day, the street will be closed from 4PM to 9PM, so head on over there after for the live countdown!

Magical Lantern Festival

For the third year, Chiswick House and Garden is once again hosting the Magical Lantern Festival. Based on Chinese tradition of the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節) , you’ll find yourself surrounded by different variations of lanterns. ie. lantern rendition of Noah’s ark, a lantern snowman, Santa and his reindeer’s and even an ancient city from the Chinese Song Dynasty etc. Besides lanterns, you’ll also find street food, drinks, and fairground rides for children.

Covent Garden Christmas Lights

For the 2017 Christmas Lights theme, Covent Garden once again brings back the idea of mistletoe’s, having over 40 mistletoe chandeliers hanging over the cobbled piazza and market buildings. You’ll also find a giant glowing Christmas tree as well as silver reindeer’s on the east side of the piazza. Head on over after November 14 and enjoy!

Bond Street Christmas Lights

For the third year straight, Bond Street aka one of the most luxurious shopping districts in London welcomes the return of its stunning peacock-themed Christmas Lights. From November 14-January 2, you’ll get to shop over these magnificent twinkling lights.
